CALLS FOR SUBMISSION

Submission Guidelines

CREATURE is seeking works that revolve around the fascinating creatures in or out of the modern world: the supernatural, enchanting, and/or off-putting. We accept any and all creative forms of any and all lengths and sizes, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, and particularly compelling art pieces. The only true qualification for submission is that your work must be, in effect, a creature feature. The stranger, the better.

We do not accept submissions that include the following: racism, homophobia, transphobia, or other kinds of discrimination, or any AI-generated content.

Prompts and Examples

We encourage you to dig into the recesses of your mind for weird creatures with weird stories that only you can tell us. Provided are some examples of what we are looking for:

> A story from the perspective of a potentially misunderstood, but exceedingly unreliable, supernatural entity.

> A poem about the terrifying reality of being bitten by an unfortunately enchanting  vampire.

> A collection of journal entries, told by the first person to ever encounter the Mothman.

> A reflective short story on the domestic lives of a family of werewolves, gargoyles, yetis, fairies, ghosts, sirens, zombies, or the like.

> A screenplay for a horror film about spiritual possession.

We, of course, invite unique interpretations of what makes a creature feature and look forward to seeing a variety of submissions.
